More about METARs
Sunday, January 29th, 2006flyagogo.net has seen a couple of improvements concerning the display of METARs over the weekend (by the way: to see a METAR just type the name of the airport in the search box and press ENTER):
- METARs are now displayed in a decoded format that is much easier to read. You can still see the standard format by clicking on the encode link.
- It is now possible to see the last two previous METARS besides the current one. Click on the “<<" and ">>” symbols to select one of them. This feature is very convenient when trying to determine how the weather might be developing in the future.
- Finally another important improvement is that the latency between the observation time of the METAR and the time it shows up on flyagogo.net has been dramatically reduced.
I hope you find the new way to browse METARs useful. As always: If anything does not work as advertised, or you have an idea how to improve the website, don’t hesitate to e-mail me at info@flyagogo.net.
One more thing: You might have experienced some trouble with flyagogo.net on Saturday. This is because of a mistake I made when updating the website. I hope to avoid that in the future.
